MUSCAT: As part of ongoing efforts to monitor developments related to oil pollution in the marine environment, the Food Safety and Quality Centre (FSQC) is continuing field monitoring, investigations and inspections to assess the potential impact on fishing grounds and verify the safety of fishery products.

The Centre has intensified precautionary measures, including monitoring fish landing sites, processing plants and fish markets; tracking landing movements and the sources of catches; collecting samples for laboratory testing; and forming technical teams to monitor shorelines and landing sites in governorates along the Arabian Sea. — ONA
